Through faith in Christ, God the Holy Spirit lives within us.
And one of the things the Spirit is constantly doing is calling out to God the Father, and in doing so, the Spirit draws us into the eternal relationship of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps, given the year we have had, we’ve found ourselves crying out to God more than ever. And perhaps we are wondering where God is, and what his answer is to the cries that have risen to him from his creation over the course of this year.
God’s ways, of course, are clouded in mystery. We don’t like that. We want certainty. Paul, writing to the Galatians, reminds us of the perfect love and perfect plan of God. God sent his Son for us at just the right time. God in Christ is born into the world as a human, born to keep the law of God which we cannot keep. At immeasurable cost, God in Christ does for us what we cannot do for ourselves and redeems us.
In the midst of these troubled times, may the Spirit lead us into every deeper relationship with the Father through Jesus, trusting that, though we cannot see the way, God in perfect love is fulfilling his perfect plans: at great cost, drawing people back to himself through Christ.
