Day Ten – Stars

Today's Reading

There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshipped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Luke 2:36 -38 (NIRV)

Yesterday and today we met two older people who were waiting for Jesus to arrive. They were both so grateful to God to meet Jesus and told everyone about him.

Do you know someone who is older than you who is important to your family? Think of a special Christmas gift you could give them. You could send them a message to say thank you, or make them some cakes, or send them some flowers. Be creative. Think of something that would let them know that they are loved.

Chat Together:

  • What difference do you think Jesus being born makes?
  • What do you think people will say about your window when they pass by?
  • What else could you do this Christmas to tell everyone about Jesus, just like Anna did?

Add some fairy lights to your Christmas Window and switch them on. Look at the beautiful story you have created. Can you tell the story using all the different parts of the picture you have made?

Share your window!

Why not see how many others of your friends and family can get involved with making a Christmas Window this year! At the end of every day you could take a photo and send it to friends, and ask them to show you what their window is lookling like!
