Day Two – Crown

Today's Reading

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever, his Kingdom will never end. ”

Luke 1:29 -33 (NIRV)

Choose someone in your household to pretend to be a brand-new baby. Wrap them up and get them to lie somewhere safe. Gather round them and tell them a short story or sing them a song!

There is lots of preparation involved in getting ready for a baby. Mary was suddenly told that she was going to have a baby. Jesus would be a real baby who cried, slept, fed and had stinky nappies. But he was also going to be very special.

Chat Together:

Choose your favourite part of what the angel said about Jesus:

  • Why did you choose that part as your favourite?
  • Every time you see Christmas lights, or a Christmas Tree, try and

    remember the part you chose

Colour in or draw a crown and stick it on your window. What would you like to ask Jesus to do for our world today? Remember he is God’s son, he is the King of Kings, so nothing you ask is too big or too small!

Share your window!

Why not see how many others of your friends and family can get involved with making a Christmas Window this year! At the end of every day you could take a photo and send it to friends, and ask them to show you what their window is lookling like!
